Product configuration
Your Spendstream account is configured by our team during onboarding. That configuration decides which products you can use and what the API returns to you.
Publisher type
Each publisher is configured as one of the following.
Configuration | What you offer |
Gift Card | Digital gift cards from more than 150 brands. |
Affiliate | Cashback offers from more than 4,000 online brands. |
A hybrid configuration that offers both products under one account is on the roadmap and is not available today.
⚠️ Warning: Do not assume that every publisher has access to every product or every response field. Catalogue and purchase endpoints behave according to your configuration, and some fields appear only for one publisher type.
Other settings that affect behaviour
Setting | Effect |
Reward type | What your users earn, for example site credit, ride credit or free entries. |
Country | Your market, which can affect available brands and currency. |
Payment gateway | Whether Spendstream takes card payment through its hosted payment page, or you fund purchases from a prepaid balance. |
Manage withdrawal | Whether you handle cashback payouts yourself. |
Commercial terms | Agreed with Spendstream and held on your publisher record. Responses show |
Funding models for gift cards
- Hosted payment. You create a payment link, the customer pays on the Spendstream hosted page, and the gift card is issued once payment succeeds. Use
paymentLink. - Prepaid balance. You fund a float with Spendstream and issue cards against it. Use
giftCardRequestApi, and check your float withcheckPBalance(this endpoint may be permission gated on your account).
How to change your configuration
Configuration changes are made by Spendstream. Contact your account manager if you need a different publisher type, reward type or funding model.
